Rough Grades

<<Return To Landscaping Services Page

What is a rough grade? Each city lot has a slope design. The slopes are engineered so that water flows away from the house, down the edges of the lot, and into the sewers. In a rough grade, the soil is sloped so that it adheres to this design. It also includes back-filling the foundation walls, if that has not already been completed. Typically, rough grades are performed after construction is complete (as driving vehicles over the soil will destroy the grade).

Once the city has provided its approval in the form of a Lot Grading Inspection Report, the final grade process can begin.

In some cases, you may bypass the Rough Grade Approval stage, and complete a final grade.
